Once you have completed Phase 2 (VLCD and eliminating the body of HCG for the 3 days following your last drops), slowly increase calorie intake during the three full weeks following the last day of your low calorie diet (VLCD).
It is recommended to stay away from ALL starches & sugars in order to successfully re-set your metabolism and hypothalamus for optimum fat burning and weight stabilization. This phase is the most important as it helps your body recognize that this is now your “usual” weight.
You MUST weigh yourself every morning as soon as you get out of bed and after emptying your bladder. If you gain or lose more than 2lbs from your weight at the end of the VLCD during the three week Maintenance Phase, read below on how to complete a “steak day” to break your stall.

THE PHASE 3 STALL BREAKER – “STEAK DAY”
During the maintenance phase, the moment the scale goes up beyond two pounds of your achieved final weight (even if only by a few ounces) you must skip breakfast and lunch entirely that day but drink as much as possible of the allowed liquids. That evening eat a huge steak with only an apple OR a raw tomato. Doing this will bring your weight back to your achieved weight and help you to stabilize. It is of utmost importance that this is done on the day that the scale goes above 2 pounds and not postponed until the following day.
The principal behind the steak day is feeding your body protein. Protein which is provided by the steak, is a natural diuretic which can release water weight that isn’t flushing from your body. It also clears your body of any built up toxins via the apple or tomato that is preventing your body from releasing any fat as well.
